The book gives all-round insight into the subject including the causes, the ordeal of dealing with impotence, the strain it puts on relationships, the courage to seek medical help, choosing your course of treatment, and the mental awareness needed to deal with it all so you can begin the journey to recovery. Rick Redner shares deeply intimate details of his battle with ED and how he and his wife supported each other through it all.
Clearly revealed in Everything You Never Wanted to Know about Erectile Dysfunction and Penile Implants, dealing with erectile dysfunction is not just about the torment of losing one's manhood but the 'shame' and frustration that comes with it. The idea of penile implants might seem like a myth to many - personally my first knowledge of penile implants came from the medical drama Grey's Anatomy - but it is one that will put an end to suffering for many men.
Many men suffer silently, thinking that erectile dysfunction is the end to one's sex life and that it is a permanent condition. Well, Rick Redner is living proof that you are wrong on both counts. Ask Seller a Question. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. The earth is an extraordinarily fragile place which is fraught with danger. A tiny rock hurtling through space, wracked by violent crustal movements and subject to dramatic climatic changes as the earth's geophysical and orbital circumstances vary. Only 10, years after the end of the Ice Age, the planet is sweltering in some of the highest temperatures it has ever experienced.
At the same time, overpopulation and exploitation are dramatically increasing the vulnerability of modern society to natural catastrophes such as earthquakes, floods, and volcanic eruptions. As futurologists long ago discovered, predicting the future is nigh on impossible, and few of us can even start to imagine what life will be like on planet earth in a million or even a thousand years time.
The real question is, however, will there be any human life here at all? The End of the World will focus on the many potential catastrophes facing our planet and our race in the future, and will address both the probabilities of these events happening and our chances of survival.
The breadth of treatment will extend from discussion of the likely consequences of the current global warming experiment to the inevitable destruction of the Earth in the far future, when it is enveloped by our giant, bloated sun.
In between other end of the world scenarios will be examined, including the new Ice Age, the asteroid and comet impact threat, supervolcanoes and their effects, and megatsunami. Nothing lasts forever, and we are all going to die. Since we've lived with these givens all our lives, it's not really surprising that we enjoy books about the end of the world such as Bill McGuire's A Guide to the End of the World. Going all together would be so much more fun. McGuire's account of likely natural catastrophes is a splendidly integrated mechanism, relating rising tides to volcanic eruptions, eruptions to floods, global warming to local cooling--it's amazing we've lasted as long as we have not sarcasm: fact.
Of course, the boundary between the "natural" and the "man-made" disaster is and has been, since we arrived on the scene a grey area. The marked success of one species threatens extinction on all. The super-success of homo sapiens bodes ill, not only for individual species, but for the whole environment. And this, not surprisingly, is where McGuire's book starts to leave the rails. McGuire writes: "By wiping out the bulk of species that exist today, we are destroying much of the evolution's raw material and severely limiting the planet's ability to generate the species of the future.
More important, its conclusion is plain nonsense.
